As a man who took his life’s inspiration from two powerful women, it saddens me that there is still a need to set out a day to make everyone think about inequality. But there is.

March 8th is International Women’s Day and has been since 1911.

Paris is always a good idea… well, it started out that way

I wasn’t very aware of gender inequality in my life and didn’t really put much mind to it until a day in 2011 when my wife, Lyn, and I flew my mother-in-law, Sarah, to Paris and met her at the St Georges Cinq hotel. I had hired a rooftop suite for a week as a birthday surprise for her.

She’d never stayed in a place like that and was elated. It’s one of the world’s top hotels (a week there cost me over $25,000) and definitely a place to put on your Intentions list.
